Therefore, whatever you want others to do for you, do also the same for them — this is the Law and the Prophets.
Matthew 7:12 HCSB
The Golden Rule, as it is called by so many, is the basis for all of the Biblical teaching we have as Christians.
The world will try to point out that all religions have this rule, but what they fail to mention is that while others focus on what not to do to other people, Christianity is the only one that focuses on what we should do for other people. In other religions the choices are simple; be nice or leave each other alone, but don’t do any harm. In Christianity, however the choice is only one; treat each other the way we would like to be treated. Leaving each other alone is not an option. In this, Christ wants us to be bold and caring for each other. He wants us to share God’s plan of salvation with others. If we are to follow Christ’s rule, we are going to have to be brave enough to engage people that might reject us. We will need to get past that fear and be strong for Christ. Help spread Christ’s love!
I know I am hearing from the Holy Spirit when I hear the same words in the same time period. This was what I received from Sunday’s message.
-If you focus on others faults then you can’t focus on God’s blessings. –
Almost your exact point. 😊
