Joy comes with fulfilled promises.

Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: See, the virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and they will name Him Immanuel, which is translated “God is with us.” When Joseph got up from sleeping, he did as the Lord’s angel had commanded him. He married her but did not know her intimately until she gave birth to a son. And he named Him Jesus.
-Matthew 1:22-25
Message
Some 700 years before the First Advent, the prophet Isaiah foretold of the virgin birth of Jesus (Isaiah 7:14). God had promised a Savior to His people. They had waited for a long time, and now He was coming.
For those that already knew of the coming Messiah, there must have been Joy. God had fulfilled His promise!
Joy is more than a feeling. It is an experience. To everyone that believes in Jesus, Joy comes in knowing that through Him, God has kept His promise of a Savior. We also find Joy in knowing that the promise of the Second Advent will be fulfilled one day as well. This season share that Joy with someone else.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Show us how to experience Your Joy. Give us Joy to share. Let us know that Your promises will be fulfilled. In the Holy name of Jesus.
Amen.
